Nonprofit Telephone Fraud Message:
I received a Robo-call from 916-572-8366 claiming to be the Utility Savings Program soliciting heating replacement and repair. I pressed 1 to speak with a live person and told them I was on the National Do Not Call list and I wanted to speak to her supervisor. She transferred me to a suicide hotline. After that I got more and more call at all hours of the night. I did some research and found that the company making the calls was Syntrol Heating and Air, 2120 March Road, Roseville, CA 95747, 916-772-5813. I contacted there manager Scott Hardcastle and he informed me that the company making the calls was a nonprofit called The Utility Savings Program, Inc based out of Vacaville. I have called the Attorney Generals office and there is no such nonprofit company. After further investigation I found out that the supposed nonprofit is being run out of there Roseville office. What they are doing is illegal and they are taking advantage of older people such as myself that cant afford to pay for heating replacement or repair.
